In-house Spartans program starts November 4th
The Jr. Spartan program is for intermediate to advanced players in 1st through 8th grades. This program features four teams of skilled players who hit the ice three times a week. Practices are Monday and Thursday evenings, and every Saturday they meet head-to-head for games. The Jr. Spartans have specialized skills training practices which focus on skating as well as team practices where coaches instruct the players about game play situations and strategies.
JR Spartans Inhouse Forms
I would like to introduce myself to you all, my name is Jake Mack. I am very happy to say that I have been presented with a wonderful opportunity to run the Learn to Play Hockey, and in-house hockey program for The RRRink. I am very excited for this opportunity! I am looking forward to getting to know all of you. I can’t wait to help your skater not only increase in skill, but enhance their enjoyment of the greatest sport there is (at least in my opinion).
I would like to tell you a bit about myself so you have an idea of where I’m from and what I am all about. As a youth skater I spent the majority of my time playing in the Colorado leagues against many of the metro Denver based teams. I was selected to attend the USA Hockey select camps from age 14 all the way through my senior year of high school. I won several AA Bantam and AA Midget league championships as well as state titles as a player. I played on several different select teams, had a brief stint in the USHL, and have played hockey from coast to coast and across Canada.
I am a level 3 certified coach through USA Hockey. I began coaching at the age of 17. I started out coaching at the mini mite level (4, 5, 6 years old) and progressively worked my way all the way through Midget (High School age) I also won championships while coaching. I find coaching to be a very rewarding experience and I love doing it. I really enjoy working with kids of all ages; each age group has something different about it that makes it unique and FUN.
I underlined fun for a reason. That’s what hockey is supposed to be! While I coached and played at a high level, I never forgot that we are supposed to have fun out on the ice. Fun may be the most important thing about hockey. I want each and every skater to not only improve, but to enjoy the experience no matter what their ability is! Thank you for being a part of hockey and thank you for your time!
The RRRink is home to the Southern Oregon Figure Skating Club (SOFSC). The Club is an affiliate of the United States Figure Skating Association (USFSA). SOFSC is responsible for hosting sanctioned competitions as well as exhibitions and tests. We have several wonderful coaches with years of experience teaching skaters at both recreational and competitive levels. To visit the Club’s official website, Click Here
