COVID 19 updates:
NOTICE – August 10, 2020:
We are sorry to announce a delay in opening The RRRink on August 15, 2020 to a later date.
Governor Kate Brown Announced the following new Covid-19 restrictions which were effective July 15, 2020.
- Face coverings are required for age 5 and up.
- Face coverings are now required when exercising indoors, plus outdoors when you can’t physically distance.
- Capacity limit for restaurants, gyms, venues (e.g. concert halls, movie theaters) is reduced to 100 people indoors, including staff.
We believe the new requirements will take away from the expected experience and make breathing more difficult while skating at The RRRink. It will also increase the losses already being experienced by the business.
We have been making plans to reopen safely for our employees and patrons, meeting with youth and adult hockey members to plan the best programs for each group and speaking with figure skating coaches and adding features to the website to make registering and paying via e-commerce available.
We will continue all this and more so when Covid-19 restrictions are relaxed The RRRink will be able to open quickly… wait until you see the new yellow kick plates currently being installed. NICE!
Please check the site often for updates.

Notice – July 1, 2020:
Patrons and Interested Parties of Southern Oregon Ice Arena LLC, dba The RRRink
As many of you already know The RRRink was closed on March 23, 2020 per Oregon State Governor Kate Brown’s order that all non-essential businesses close to slow the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
We did not know how long this order would be in effect so our priority was to maintain our employees and work on our usual painting, repair and in general sprucing up of our facility so it would be clean and ready when our skaters returned.
Currently, skating rinks are not included for opening in any of the three phases of the Governor’s plans. The word floating around is maybe in September or when a vaccine is developed. That has caused us to re-evaluate our position and we have decided to take the ice out to reduce our utility costs which are significant. This is in line with what other rinks are doing.
We want to assure all of you that we will be ready to get up and running the moment we hear we are cleared to do so. Since circumstances can change rapidly in today’s society, we are hopeful that could be sooner than it looks like now. We miss our skaters and we don’t feel we are a non-essential business. We are here to provide good clean healthy recreation for our community and we want to get back to doing that.
Please keep the faith, keep healthy and know that we will inform you of any further changes as they happen. We look forward to seeing all of you back in The RRRink as soon as possible.
